Update on Africa Here & Now: Ripples International, Meru, Kenya Greetings. As many of you know Rev. Laura Jones made a trip to Kenya for 17 days in April. Her number one goal was to get a complete list of what the new children’s hospital needed. This goal was accomplished. AHN is in negotiations to supply this hospital in three phases. This is a tedious process at the very least but we are inching forward day by day. Currently phase one is our goal. Pastor Laura returned home early on May 2 with malaria that she contacted the 2nd or 3rd day of her trip. She tried to stay, but her health deteriorate at a rapid rate and returned home and to St. Vincent hospital on May 2. After three long months, it appears she has finally turned the corner to breaking the cycle of some serious health complications with her throat. Thanks to all of you that have prayed for her, sent emails, cards, and meals.

Publishing Project 2009 One of the fund raisers for Ripples Intl. is the publishing of 5 books that Pastor Laura has written and compiled. Part of the proceeds of these books will go directly to Ripples and the work in the states for the hospital as well as new fundraising projects. Internship for Africa Here & Now We would like to welcome Kristin Toussing to our staff at AHN. She will be doing an internship in event planning/fundraising for us August – December, 2009. Her duties will be to plan a fundraiser for AHN in Sept./Oct. and do distribute mailings, new brochures, and information through the web, email, mail, and event planning. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for shipment of the hospital containers. Welcome on board Kristin!! |

Trips to Ripples International, Meru, Kenya Planned The next phase of AHN is to plan and implement trips to Meru, Kenya for mission work. We are partnering with Kelly Campbell of The Village Experience in Indianapolis, IN. She has visited Ripples in May and has put together a brochure for our first trip after Christmas, 2009. Please check out the information, and let us know a.s.a.p. if you are interested. Another trip will be planned for the summer of 2010.
